tiger

RANNI: Tiger has been spotted again in Kottamala in Perunadu. The carcass of the cow killed the previous day was dragged by the tiger for ten metres and eaten. On Wednesday night, in Kottamala, the tiger killed Mambareth Abraham's (Rajan) four-month pregnant cow. Then the forest guards installed a camera to confirm the presence of the tiger. The dead cow was not buried in the belief that the tiger might come again. The next day, the tiger arrived at night and was seen standing near the carcass of the cow. After dragging the carcass about ten metres from here, it was eaten.

After the image of the tiger was captured on the camera, steps were taken to trap it. A cage will be installed as soon as permission is obtained from the wildlife warden. When the wild animal attack first took place near the college in Perunadu, there were allegations that some forest department staff tried to pretend that it was a wolf-like creature. Valavanal Reji had seen the tiger near Kulathumniravel area. The tiger attacked Reji's cow first.
