NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi to visit a Christian church on Easter. PM will visit Delhi's Sacred Heart Cathedral tomorrow at 6 pm. Prime Minister will be received under the leadership of Delhi Archbishop Anil Couto but there is no confirmation whether he will attend the Easter services.
Sacred Heart Cathedral is the church where President Draupadi Murmu had paid a visit earlier. BJP is trying to reach out to Christian churches to increase the party's roots in various Christian-dominated states. With Assembly elections this year and Lok Sabha elections next year, the party is making efforts to strengthen its presence among the Christian community. The Prime Minister had a meeting with Orthodox Catholicos Baselios Marthoma Mathews III in Delhi the other day.
