GUWAHATI: Rajasthan Royals tops the points table after defeating Delhi Capitals by 57 runs in IPL. Rajasthan, who got to bat first, made a good score of 199 runs at the loss of 4 wickets in 20 overs. Delhi could score only 142 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in 20 overs in their reply batting. Trent Boult gave Rajasthan a double breakthrough by dismissing Prithvi Shaw (0) and Manish Pandey (0) in the third and fourth balls of the first over before Delhi opened their account. Rajasthan captain and wicketkeeper Sanju Samson flew to the right and took a beautiful left-handed catch to dismiss Prithvi. Pandey was trapped in front of the wicket by Boult.

Only captain David Warner (65) who scored a half-century in his second consecutive match, and Lalit Yadav (38 off 24 balls) were able to hold on to the Delhi line. Rousseau, who scored 14 runs, was the only Delhi batsman to reach double figures apart from them. Warner and Lalit joined at the crease at 36/3 to give Delhi hope, but Sanju broke the partnership by bringing back Boult in the 13th over.

Lalit was clean-bowled by Boult to give a breakthrough again. Warner and Lalit made a partnership of 64 runs in 46 balls for the fourth wicket. Soon, Delhi was on the defensive as big-hitters Axar Patel (2) was stumped by Sanju off Chahal's ball and Rovman Powell (2) was caught by Hetmyer off Ashwin's. Boult and Chahal took three wickets and Ashwin took two wickets for Rajasthan.

Yashasvi Jaiswal (60 off 31 balls) and Jos Buttler (79 off 51 balls) got off to a blistering start for Rajasthan. Both hit 11 fours and 1 six each and scored 98 runs in 51 balls for the first wicket.
