KOCHI: Cardinal Mar George Alencherry, major Archbishop of the Syro-Malabar Catholic Church on Sunday praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi calling the PM a good leader.

“PM Modi has succeeded in nurturing India’s global image. He did not believe in hostility with anyone. He has the qualities of a true leader”, said Cardinal Alencherry in an interview with a national daily.

Commenting on BJP’s electoral prospects in Kerala, Cardinal Alencherry said, “BJP is popular in North India because they did good things to the people. LDF government retained power in Kerala due to people-friendly policies. In Kerala, all three fronts have a chance to form the government.”

Cardinal Alencherry also opined that Christians don’t feel insured in India under the Modi government.
