NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited the Sacred Heart Cathedral in Delhi on Easter Day. The Prime Minister reached the church at 5:30 pm and was received by the priests. Narendra Modi participated in the prayer after lighting the candle. He spent about twenty minutes in the church and returned after interacting with the priests and believers.
The Prime Minister's visit to the Sacred Heart Church on Easter adds to the significance of efforts to bring Christians closer to the BJP. President Draupadi Murmu had also visited this church before Christmas last year.
Happy Easter! May this special occasion deepen the spirit of harmony in our society. May it inspire people to serve society and help empower the downtrodden. We remember the pious thoughts of Lord Christ on this day.

At the same time, BJP leaders and members visited church Bishops and believers in Kerala too and conveyed Easter greetings. The BJP leaders met Thalassery Archbishop Joseph Pamplany, Latin Archdiocese Archbishop Thomas J Netto, and Kanjirapalli Diocese Bishop Mar Jose Pulikal. K Surendran visited the Bishop of Thamarassery yesterday.
CPM and Congress criticized the visit. CPM said that the actions taken by the Sangh Parivar, which has declared the minorities as an internal threat, to keep the same minorities with them are extremely ridiculous. The CPM state secretariat said in a statement that the people of Kerala, who have strong secular views, will reject the dramas of BJP leaders with contempt. Leader of the Opposition VD Satheesan said that the BJP leaders' action is of double standard and ridiculous.
