KOTTAYAM: Two siblings were killed after a scooter hit the back of an Innova car on Muvattupuzha-Punalur highway near Karikattoor, Manimala. The scooter riders Mathew John ( Jis 35) and Jins John (30), sons of Manimala natives Yohannan and Sisamma are the deceased. The accident happened on Saturday around 6.30 pm.

The duo was returning home after buying medicines for their mother. The speeding Innova suddenly applied brakes and the scooter which was behind hit the car. The two were seriously injured after falling on the road and were rushed to the Kottayam Medical College Hospital, but Jis died at 9 pm. Jins also succumbed to death yesterday morning.

Both were aluminum fabrication workers. Jins was about to go to Gulf. Jis got married five years ago. His wife Ansu is three months pregnant. Jins is unmarried. The funeral will be held today at 2.30 pm at Manimala Holy Magi Forane Church cemetery.
