ATTINGAL: A motorcycle rider crashed after two unknowns hurled stones at him and tried to attack him after the fall. The incident happened near Alamcode at early dawn and Shiju who is an AITUC member in the Alamcode fish market was injured.

The incident happened near Palamkonam Indira road turning when two people hurled stones at Shiju. The stones never missed the target and easily brought down Shiju. The assailants then brandished a machete and closed him when a few other vehicles came through the road turning hindrance. The locals helped Shiju reach the hospital.

Shiju later complained to the police regarding the attack. He insists the assailants knew his travel to the market so doubts persist about it being a looting move. The lampposts and the streetlights are damaged while the locals leave in fear about more such gangs waiting to ambush in the dark of the night.
