KOZHKODE: The police have intensified their investigation in Delhi in connection with the Elathur train attack case. The family of accused Shahrukh Saifi said that he left the house three and a half hours ago, although the railway station is near the house. The police are investigating where he went and who he met during this time. The police's suspicion that there was another person with Sharukh on the train has gained strength.
Along with central agencies, teams from Kerala also collected evidence. Police officials from Kerala said that they recorded the statements of around 30 people, including Shahrukh's relatives, friends and teachers.
Shahrukh had poured two bottles of petrol on his fellow passengers on the train. The investigation team also suspects that Shahrukh had the plan to set another bogie on fire with the remaining bottle of petrol. The probe team is also examining details of Shahrukh's phone calls from 2021. At the same time, the probe team has not yet taken the accused to the places where the incident took place to collect evidence.
A team of doctors reached the AR camp in Kozhikode and examined Shahrukh after he said that he was feeling unwell yesterday. The doctors said that the accused did not have any issues and that the probe team can continue questioning him.
