THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: DIG P Ajayakumar has filed a complaint to the DGP against Kerala Prison headquarters DIG MK Vinod Kumar. The latter had earlier given a letter to vacate the quarters. But Prisons DGP Balram Kumar Upadhyay is on a week's leave. The dispute between two senior officers tarnished the reputation of the force. The tussle among the officers intensified when the DGP instructed to vacate Ajayakumar’s quarters in Thiruvananthapuram.
Ajayakumar was allotted quarters when he was working in Thiruvananthapuram. But when got transferred and settled in the quarters in Ernakulam, he did not vacate the quarters in the capital city. Vinod Kumar sent a notice to Ajayakumar based on DGP’s orders. Even after receiving the notice, Ajayakumar refused to vacate. The efforts for this continued. Meanwhile, Ajayakumar filed a complaint against Vinod Kumar to the Jail DGP. He also expressed his willingness to resign.
It is reported that Ajayakumar did not vacate the quarters thinking that he would return when the Prison headquarters DIG retires. He raises many allegations in the complaint given to DGP. The Additional Chief Secretary of the Home Department has started an investigation into the incident.
