KOZHIKODE: The police have found that Shahrukh Saifi, the accused in the Elathur train attack, boarded the train from Delhi after taking a ticket to Kozhikode. With this, the police have concluded that Shahrukh came to Kozhikode to carry out the attack.
The police are believing that Shahrukh went to Shoranur and bought petrol from there as part of the pre-planning. According to the police, Shahrukh bought petrol from Shoranur and carried out the attack in Elathur as per the instructions of someone who know Kerala very well.
Meanwhile, the probe team is saying that Shahrukh Saifi is not cooperating with the interrogation. Shahrukh is not giving a proper reply when asked about the help he received from outside regarding the train attack. The police are also saying that the accused is trying to avoid questions by acting as if he is unwell despite not having any health issues.
Meanwhile, the police have intensified their attack in Shoranur and Pattambi after receiving hints that Shahrukh received local assistance in Shoranur. The NIA team is also camping in Shoranur.
Shahrukh, who reached Kerala at 4:30 pm on Sunday, boarded the Kannur-Alappuzha Executive Express at 7:17 pm. The accused spent 15 hours in Shoranur. He took an auto from the autorickshaw stand near the railway station to the petrol pump at Kolangerikulam and bought 4 liters of petrol. There are indications that he went to many places and met with many people in between. The SIT had conducted an inspection in four houses at Karakodu Colony in Ongallur the other day based on the finding that Sharukh went there. The SIT also conducted an inspection at the colony near the petrol pump. The homemade food found inside Shahrukh's bag from the railway tracks was not stale. This indicates that someone in the state had prepared food for him.
