The DMK government approached the apex court alleging that the RSS march would create law and order issues in the state. However, the Supreme Court rejected this appeal.

In October, the RSS had sought permission from the Tamil Nadu government to carry out marches on the occasion of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav and Gandhi Jayanti. However, the government did not give permission for the march. Following this, the RSS approached the High Court.
