NEW DELHI: A woman has been arrested in connection with the murder of her in-laws. Radheshyam Verma (72), a retired government school vice principal of Gokulpuri and his wife Veena (68) were the two murdered. Police said the couple’s daughter-in-law along with her lover and friend committed the crime. An investigation is on to trace the other two absconding.
The couple was staying on the ground floor and their son Ravi, daughter-in-law Monica and grandchild occupied the first floor. She hid her lover and his friend on the terrace of their house for a few hours. They were found dead on Sunday. Cash and ornaments kept in the room were missing. Ravi told police that he last saw his parents at 10.30 pm on Sunday. The incident came to light when questioned Monica.
Verma had sold a part of his property a few days ago. He had got an advance payment of Rs 4 lakh for it. Monica told police that the couple was murdered to grab his money and other assets. She told police that the two entered the couple’s bedroom after everyone had gone to sleep and then slit their throats.
