arikomban

KOCHI: The Kerala High Court said there is no change in the order to translocate Arikomban to Parambikulam. The elephant should be translocated in a week. The court also said the government can inform if there is another suitable place to translocate the tusker. The court order was after dismissing the review plea filed by Nenmara MLA K Babu against the order to translocate the rogue tusker from Chinnakanal to Parambikulam.

The tusker cannot be caged. Translocating the tusker is inevitable. It is not the decision of the court to translocate the tusker to Parambikulam, but it is the directive of the expert committee. It is a suitable place for the tusker. The state government said the court should decide where the elephant should be translocated. The high court observed that this was an irresponsible and unacceptable reply. The matter will be considered again on April 19.

The court considering the matter again on April 19 is a victory. K Babu MLA said that it is a big relief for the people that Arikomban will not be translocated to Parambikulam soon.
