KOLLAM: NK Premachandran, Member of Parliament from Kollam, has spent the highest amount from the Lok Sabha members' local area development fund in the state. 6.14 crore was spent by him.
Pathanamthitta MP Anto Antony is in the second position, spending 5.07 crores and Kannur MP K Sudhakaran who spent only 2.46 crores holds the last position. Wayanad MP Rahul Gandhi, who was recently disqualified, is in the eighth position, having spent Rs 3.98 crore.
Premachandran is also at the forefront of preparing projects and procuring funds. While the rest of the MPs got Rs 7 crore each for the year 2019-20 and 21-22, Premachandran managed to get half the installment for 2022-23 as well.
5 crores each is received by the Lok Sabha member every year but due to covid nothing was received in 2020-21 and only two crores were given in 21-22.
