KANNUR: Shahrukh Saifi, accused in the Elathur train fire case, was brought to Kannur railway station for evidence collection. The police collected evidence by taking him to the bogie where the fire took place. Police arrived at the Kannur railway station at around 4 pm after leaving Kozhikode in the afternoon. The evidence collection took almost an hour to be completed. After setting the bogie on fire at Elathur, Shah Rukh reached Kannur on the same train and from there reached Ratnagiri on another train. The accused travelled from platform number one. He was brought here too and was taken back to Kozhikode after collecting evidence.
Earlier, the information had come out that the accused reached Kannur by the same train from Elathur and from there reached Ratnagiri and hid near the platform until he boarded the train, but no evidence has been taken in this regard yet. Evidence was taken only from the burnt bogie and the platform where the train reached Ratnagiri.
