THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Reports are claiming that the Centre will soon announce Vande Bharat trains for Kerala. It is reported that the state's long wait for the Vande Bharat Express will come to an end with the Prime Minister's visit to Kochi.

Vande Bharat Express train from Thiruvananthapuram to Kannur is likely to be announced as part of Narendra Modi's visit to Kerala. It is reported that the Prime Minister, who is coming to the state to inaugurate the Yuvam program, will allot the completed Vande Bharat train for Kerala. The train will have stops only at major centres in the cities. According to sources, the Prime Minister will reach Thiruvananthapuram from Kochi and flag off the new train.

Vande Bharat train services started in the country in February 2019. On April 8, Prime Minister Narendra Modi flagged off a new Vande Bharat Express train from Secunderabad in Telangana to Tirupati in Andhra Pradesh. This is the 13th Vande Bharat Express launched in India. The Prime Minister also recently dedicated the Chennai-Coimbatore Vande Bharat Express to the nation.
