CHENNAI: The recent speech made by Tamil Nadu Sports Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin in the Assembly is going viral on social media. Udhaynidhi delivered the speech in reply to AIADMK MLA SP Velumani who demanded free tickets for MLAs to watch IPL matches. Even Tamil Nadu CM and Udhayanidhi's father MK Stalin was seen laughing hearing Stalin's reply.

SP Velumani raised the demand during a discussion in the Tamil Nadu assembly. He complained that although the DMK government had bought tickets for IPL matches from the organizers, AIADMK MLAs did not get any tickets. He also said that the Sports Minister should immediately intervene to ensure tickets for the members of the Assembly.

In his reply, Udhayanidhi said that the IPL had not taken place in Chennai for four years and that he was not sure for whom did the previous AIADMK government get the tickets.

"I bought IPL tickets and gave them to 150 players from my constituency at my own expense. IPL is being organized by the BCCI. Jay Shah, the son of your friend Amit Shah, is its secretary. He won't listen to us if we ask for tickets. However, he will definitely listen if you ask him. You should talk to him and provide 5 tickets to every MLA. We are even ready to spend money for it," Udhayanidhi Stalin said in a lighter vein.
