Prithviraj's directorial debut Lucifer had a gala opening at the Malayalam box office rewriting the previous box office records to new numbers. The movie ended with a cue for a sequel. The makers often took their social media accounts to post sly notes on “Empuraan”, the long-awaited continuation of the successful Lucifer. Albeit the many talks, the movie dithered and never found a path forward—thanks to the busy schedule of director Prithviraj, who is committed to an array of movies, and superstar Mohanlal who is equally shuttling services from location to location.

However, the director is back again with a new Facebook post calling for rapt attention from 'Lucifer' admirers. Prithviraj shared an image from UK inside a church with the caption “ Empuraan day 3”.
