THODUPUZHA: As summer heats up along with the increase in power generation and consumption, water levels in dams in the state are dropping rapidly. Only 41 percent of water is left in the reservoirs under KSEB. At the same time last year, it was 44 percent.

The water level in Idukki Dam is 2339.3 feet, which is 37% of the maximum storage capacity. This is 10% less than last year. The water level is dropping by an average of one foot every two days. During the last two months of summer, the water in all the dams has gone down by 20 percent. There are still 47 days left for the rainy season.
