"Rajnath Singh was the Home Minister at the time of the Pulwama terror attack. The CRPF had requested an aircraft to transport the jawans injured in the attack, However, the Union Home Ministry denied it. With that, I understood that an attempt was being made to blame Pakistan for the attack and thereby gain an electoral advantage for the BJP," Malik said.
Malik was the governor of Jammu and Kashmir when the Pulwama attack took place in February 2019. 40 jawans were martyred in the Pulwama attack. Malik also said there was grave intelligence failure in the Pulwama attack.
"A car carrying around 300 kg of RDX explosives had come from Pakistan. It travelled around the roads and villages of Jammu and Kashmir for nearly 15 days. However, the intelligence agencies were not able to detect this," he said.
