CHENNAI: Yet another honour killing has taken place in Tamil Nadu. A man killed his son and his mother after the son married a girl belonging to a different caste. Krishnagiri native Dhandapani has been arrested by the police for murdering his son Subash (25) and mother Kannammal (65). Subash's wife Anusha, who sustained serious injuries, is undergoing treatment at the hospital.
The marriage between Subash and Anusha took place recently. Dhandapani had opposed this marriage. The other day, Subhash and Anusha went to Kannammal's house to visit her. Upon learning this, Dhandapani reached there and hacked all three using a machete. Dhandapani ran away from home soon after the attack. It was some locals who rushed the three to the hospital. However, Subash and Kannamal could not be saved.
Dhandapani and his son Subhash used to work in a Banyan Company in Tirupur. Subhash and Anusha fell in love while working there. The two later got married despite Dhandapani's objection. The accused murdered Kannammal for supporting the marriage.
