THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Two have been arrested for an attempt to kill a bank employee with their car. The incident happened at Vembayam in the capital city. The attempt was to kill Akhil Krishna of Chathanur. Shamna of Mangalapuram and Akhil of Anad have been arrested.
Akhil Krishna is an employee of a private bank in Kattakada. When he reached Pazhakutty in Nedumangadu while returning to Chathanur after work, he noticed that a car was being driven recklessly causing danger to other vehicles. The act was questioned by Akhil Krishna and other locals. Following that, a verbal dispute broke out between Akhil and those in the car. The car followed Akhil and then threatened him. When he reached Thekkada, the car ran over him.
Akhil, who sustained serious injuries has been admitted to a private hospital in Kollam. The police tried to trace the car but the two in the car fled after leaving the vehicle. An investigation focusing on CCTV identified Shamnad and Akhil. The two were arrested from the houses of their relatives. The two have been remanded. They told police that they tried to run over him in an inebriated condition. The police have registered a murder case against both of them.
