THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Minister Antony Raju kept his word, Cotton Hill GHSS is under full camera surveillance. 23 CCTV cameras have been installed in the school and the premises. The Minister assured CCTV facilities in the school last July. Rs 8 lakh was allotted from MLA’s asset development fund for the first phase.

Night vision cameras are installed to provide a view of the school premises and outside areas. The head teachers will receive the camera footage directly. There is also a zoom feature. The project was implemented by Keltron. The minister has assured that funds will be allocated to install more cameras in the second phase.

Currently, there are nine cameras in the school belonging to the municipality. The parents demanded to install more CCTVs in the school when ragging complaints were raised last July. Minister Antony Raju, who visited the school agreed to this and the follow-up process of installing the CCTV camera was started immediately. The minister had sanctioned a new school bus for the school last month. Two water kiosks will soon be installed in the school to provide clean drinking water to the students.
