THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: BJP state president K Surendran said that the implementation of K-Rail project is a delusion of MV Govindan. K Surendran's reaction followed the CPM state secretary's remark that Vandebharat Express is not an alternative to K-Rail. "MV Govindan said that K-Rail is an essential project for the state, but the Chief Minister and the CPM are advocating for the Silver Line foreseeing the corruption through the commission," Surendran criticized.
When Kerala got Vande Bharat, the Malayalis were happy but CPM and Congress were sad. K Surendran said that the reason for the disappointment of both fronts was that they could not get commissions. Pointing out the huge investment in the K-Rail project, he continued that the Left's clamor for the project, which is going to plunge the state into debt, is only to make gains from corruption. Vande Bharat is a part of Atmanirbhar Bharat and is entirely made in India. Unlike the Silverline project, second-rate materials from Japan are not brought to Kerala. State government was aiming for massive corruption by bringing the materials required for K-Rail from Japan to Kerala, the BJP leader alleged. K Surendran also criticized the attitude taken by the Chief Minister and DYFI, who had criticized the delay in getting Vandebharat to Kerala earlier, after the train reached the state. He also asked the Chief Minister and the government to apologize to the people for the loss of Rs 67 crore spent by the government on K-Rail.
Meanwhile, CPM State Secretary MV Govindan informed today that Vande Bharat Express is not an alternative to K-Rail. MV Govindan said that K-Rail is an essential project for Kerala, and it has to come today or the day after. We are unyielding about the stand that we need the silver line We can borrow money for the capital investment. MV Govindan added that if we go with Appam in Vande Bharat, it will get spoiled and we will go with Appam on the silver line itself.
