KANNUR: The new introduction of Vande Bharat will not supersede the K-Rail trains, said Minister Muhammed Riyas. He said the Vande Bharat trains should not come as generosity from the center and said it is the right of every people in the state. Minister was speaking at Dharmadom town for an inauguration.

“Kerala has the most train-enjoying people in the country. These people are adding to the massive revenue of railways. All trains here are dilapidated and worn out. The introduction of elite Vande Bharat is appreciable and is the duty of the central government to do so. All people in Kerala are happy with the news irrespective of political leanings.” said Riyas.

Meanwhile, the minister said the Vande Bharat could never replace the silver line project and further added that the train can move just at a pace similar to Rajadhani and Shatabdi Express. There are 626 total curves in Kerala railway tracks. 10 or 20 among these are found to be highly dangerous ones. A survey is in place to make the alignment set for high-speed trains to meet its target. Until then, Vande Bharat will only move at 100km per hour maximum to avoid any catastrophe.
