BATHINDA: A jawan was arrested in the recent firing incident in Bathinda Military station. Four army personnel were killed in their sleep. The accused is Mohan Desai and confessed that he shot his colleagues over personal disputes.

The firing incident happened on April 12 at 4.35 am. Two of the accused fled to the forest area after shooting the four army personnel to death. The Punjab police had recovered the gun used for the firing.

The four dead are Sagar, Kamlesh, Santhosh and Yogesh, soldiers of 80 media regiment. The Punjab Police had earlier confirmed that it was not a terrorist attack. Two days before the incident, an INSAS rifle and 28 rounds of ammunition had gone missing from the military base. They were later found.
