ALAPPUZHA: Four women including a pregnant lady sustained injuries in an attack by an eight-member team. The incident happened last evening at 4 pm at Ayodhya Nagar in Ambalapuzha. A dispute that broke out during the temple festival led to the attack.

There was a dispute between the youths and the family members of the women. They assembled and barged into their houses to question the act. They attacked the women with sticks. The locals tried to stop them, but to no avail. They did not withdraw even after the police reached there. They used abusive language towards the women in the presence of the police.

The police took Ajith, Bilal and Rahul into custody in connection with the incident. The women including the pregnant lady identified as Shilpa have been admitted at Vandanam Medical College. The police have intensified search for the other accused.
