PUNE: Five dead after a huge advertisement board fell to the ground in rough weather. The accident took place in Maharashtra's Pimpri-Chinchwad township. The huge billboard collapsed due to heavy rain and wind. Four women were killed in the accident on Monday evening and several others were injured. Many people who were trapped under the broken board were rescued by the police, fire force, and locals and shifted to the hospital. Huge cranes have also been deployed for rescue operations.
At the same time, the NCP strongly criticized the incident in Maharashtra where 11 people who participated in Union Home Minister Amit Shah's public program died due to sunstroke. NCP leader and former Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, who demanded an inquiry into the incident, criticized it as a government-sponsored disaster. 11 people died of sunstroke while attending the Maharashtra Bhushan Awards on Sunday. 50 people have also been admitted to the hospital with heatstroke and heart problems. The venue of the ceremony in Navi Mumbai recorded a temperature of 38 degrees Celsius.
