NEW DELHI: Kerlas's newly allowed Vande Bharat train will be inaugurated by prime minister Narendra Modi confirmed union railway minister Ashwini Vaishnav. The train which was earlier fixed to shuttling service between Thiruvananthapuram to Kannur will now go till Kasargod.

“Many propagated about Vande Bharat not coming to Kerala, what do you have to say now? ” Ashwini Vaishnav asked the detractors through his press meet.

The flag-off ceremony is scheduled for April 25th.

During the initial phase, the Vande Bharat will cruise at a speed limited to only 100km per hour. Within a time period of one year, Vande Bharat will run at a speed touching 130 km, informed the minister. The track alignment survey will also run in parallel to make it conducive for the train to meet the speed targets. 25 passengers will be selected for the initial ride on the elite train. PM Modi will flag off the train from Thiruvananthapuram.

Yesterday, the trail run was conducted with Vande Bharat reaching Kannur from Thiruvananthapuram at seven hours time.
