THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Lokayukta Justice Cyriac Joseph said that he only has sympathy towards those criticizing him. He said that he noticed that some people were criticizing him by referring to the achievements in his career.

"I only have sympathy towards those criticising me by counting the positions I got. I noticed that some people are mentioning that I worked as a government pleader in the Kerala High Court for 12 years. However, they deliberately hid the fact that I worked as a government pleader during the terms of various Chief Ministers. I was lucky that Modi and Manmohan Singh acknowledged my talent and that I was made a government pleader. I was made Lokayukta after I turned seventy. Who does not feel jealous of these achievements?" he said.

Meanwhile, a controversy had erupted over the 'rabid dog' remark used by the Lokayukta against petitioner RS Sasikumar while considering the plea on the CM relief fund misuse case. Later the Lokayukta issued a press release clarifying that it did not refer to the complainant as a rabid dog and that its statement was misinterpreted by the media.
