PATHANAMTHITTA: The Supreme Court will consider the Sabarimala Thiruvabharana case again today. The court will be considering the plea filed by P Rajavarma and other members of the Pandalam palace against the high court verdict upholding the devaprasnam held in Sabarimala in June 2006. The case is being considered by a bench headed by Justice Krishna Murari.
The plea reached the Supreme Court amidst a dispute over the ownership of the Thiruvabharanam. Justice C N Ramachandran Nair was entrusted by the Supreme Court in 2020 to submit a report in a sealed cover over the value of the Thiruvabharan adorned by Lord Ayyappa. The court had also directed to examine whether there is any security issue in continuing the possession of Thiruvabharanam by the royal family. The court will also consider this report.
Meantime, the Sabarimala temple will close today after Vishu-Medamasa pujas. Deeparadhana, Padipuja and Pushpabhishekam will be held at 6.30 pm.
