Even if the mother abandons, the government will provide shelter... The newborn baby left in a bucket by the mother in Pathanamthitta Kotta was handed over to the Department of Women and Child Development by Kottayam Medical College. The baby was discharged from Kottayam Medical College today. The child will be protected by the Child Welfare Committee. The services of a caregiver had already been made available to take care of the baby. A special medical team was formed under the leadership of Dr. Jayaprakash, superintendent of the children's hospital, and provided expert treatment. Congratulations to the entire team at Kottayam Medical College Children's Hospital for bringing the baby to life.
A native of Kotta put the baby in a bucket in the bathroom after giving birth at home on April 4. The woman had come to a private hospital in Chengannur due to excessive bleeding. The woman told the doctors that she had buried the baby after giving birth, but the elder son who was with her revealed that the baby was in a bucket in the bathroom back home.
The hospital officials immediately informed the police and Child Welfare Committee officials. A police team led by SHO Vipin reached the woman's house and heard the baby crying from the bathroom during the inspection. Then without wasting a single moment, SI Abhilash ran with the baby in the bucket and took it to the hospital in a police jeep.
After reaching the hospital and completing the first aid procedure, the police took the newborn to the children's hospital. Hospital superintendent Dr. KP Jayaprakash led the treatment to bring back the life of the newborn baby. The child was cared for by two women from Thanal, a childcare center run by Omallur.
