THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will flag off the first Vande Bharat train service in the state on April 25 at 10 am. However, the PM will not travel in Vande Bharat but will talk with the students on the train.
Children's opinion will be sought on topics like Vande Bharat train, Atma Nirbhar, and Swachch Bharat. For this, the Union Ministry of Communications has sought the list of children from major schools in the city. After the inauguration, Prime Minister, Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, Minister of State for External Affairs V Muraleedharan, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, Shashi Tharoor MP, Minister Abdurahiman etc. will come to the main stage prepared at the Central Stadium. There are other functions and the Prime Minister's speech.
Invited passengers will be allowed in Vande Bharat on the first day of service. There will be media workers, prominent personalities, railway officials etc. The regular service will be from April 26. Timetable and fare are not fixed. It will be announced by Saturday after getting approval from the Railway Board. Prime Minister's special security team will reach Thiruvananthapuram on Friday. Until then, the Railway Protection Force will take care of Vande Bharat.
As a matter of security, the parking area at Thiruvananthapuram Central Station will be closed from today till the 25th.
