THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: As a relief from the intense heat, summer rains were received in many places Thursday. From Thiruvananthapuram to Wayanad, isolated rains were received in hilly areas. With the westerly winds becoming more favourable, there is a possibility of rain with thunder and lightning over more areas including North Kerala.
There is a possibility of isolated thundershowers and winds of up to 40 kmph at isolated places till Monday. Isolated rain is forecast in districts except Kannur and Kasaragod. Due to the possibility of high waves and sea storms on the Kerala coast, caution should be exercised. Palakkad recorded the highest temperature yesterday too - 38.4 degrees Celsius. Kottayam (37.7), Kannur airport (37.4), Thrissur Vellanikkara (37 degrees).
