THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: It is suspected that the woman who bought a newborn baby from Thycaud hospital had done similar act before. Following this, the police launched an investigation. The investigation by Childline revealed that the same woman had bought another girl baby five years ago. It is also suspected that this child was later handed over to someone else. Meanwhile, the mother who sold the baby is yet to be found. It is suspected that the address given by her in the hospital is fake.
The sale of a four-day-old baby girl baby took place in Thycaud hospital yesterday. Later, the baby was recovered and taken under the care of CWC during an investigation conducted by the police on the basis of a confidential phone call received by Childline.
39-year-old woman who is a native of Karamana bought the baby. She was married twice but didn’t have any kids. Thampanoor police filed a case and will take further action after interrogating both parties. Health Minister also sought a report on this issue.
