MALAPPURAM: Police doubt the mysterious death of a youth in Edavana to be a murder. Today morning, Edavana native Ridan Basil(28) was found dead atop a hill near the premise in mysterious circumstances. The police have started an investigation into the issue.

Ridan suffered brutal injuries on his head and chest. The forensic report shocked revealing bullet wounds in the youth's body. Ridan was found missing on Friday. His relatives scurried in search for one day ending up finding his dead body on the hill. The family has got no clues regarding how Ridan ended up in this remote terrain.

Ridan was earlier involved in a drug case. The police look curious linking this with the ever-sprawling gold trafficking in the Kozhikode-Malappuram turf. A detailed search into the issue is in progress.
