India chairs the G20 summit of 2023 and holds the prestigious presidency of the same. Things are plain sailing and it is ebullience all over the subcontinent considering the feat achieved. The economy is buoyant with IMF labeling the country as the new big name that will control the world’s financial upkeep. With India slowly treading successive steps, the hitherto peace-stricken Jammu and Kashmir received a bolt with a sudden terror attack. Five army officials were martyred. Lakshar e Taiba took the blame as a laurel. But things are not that clogged up to discern the attack as the brainchild of Pakistan ISI.
Kashmir was the selected spot of the tourism working committee for the G20 summit. The immediate Pak maneuver to create smoke out of nothing is a frail attempt to grab the world's attention to still keep afloat Kashmir issue from sinking. The Indian intelligence was expecting a foreign disturbance but failed to stymie it.
After the Pulwama attack which took 40 army lives to ashes, things were stagnant in the valley with Pakistan not craning its neck into its neighbor's turf. The Balakot retribution also served as a fair reminder about the chaos India is capable of gifting back. However, the present Poonch grenade attack on an army truck is the biggest after Pulwama. Pakistan foreign minister Bilawal Bhutto is set to land this year in India for the Shanghai cooperation. The attack in Poonch happened moments after Bhutto's declaration to visit India. It won't be that wrong to assume this is a warning to not engage with India until Kashmir gets answered.
Defense Minister Rajnath Singh told, the terrorists getting support from locals and neighborhoods in the village of Poonch. Small attacks are happening successively in the valley and India needs to mete out a more precise security apparatus to give a befitting reply to not just the cantankerous neighbors but to the betraying many stationed within Indian land.
