THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Arrangements for the inaugural journey of the Vande Bharat Express train allotted to Kerala have been completed. The inaugural journey, which will be flagged off by the Prime Minister on April 25, will have special stops in addition to the current 9 stops. The first journey starts from Thiruvananthapuram at 10.30 am and reaches Kasaragod at 9.15 pm.
Stops have been sanctioned at Kollam, Kayamkulam, Chengannur, Thiruvalla, Kottayam, Ernakulam, Chalakudy, Thrissur, Shoranur, Tirur, Kozhikode, Thalassery, Kannur, Payyannur and Kasaragod on the opening day. Railways informed that more stops were allotted on the opening day to get participation from all major locations.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will not travel by train after the Vande Bharat flag-off ceremony. On the opening day, invited guests will travel by train. After the flag-off at 10:30 AM, the Prime Minister will attend a public function at the Central Stadium.
