THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Thampanoor police have started an investigation to find the couple who sold their three-day-old newborn to another family inside Thycaud Mother and children hospital. The newborn was sold for Rs three lakhs by the couple. Childline officials intruded on the issue, for impersonation attempts and fraud. Lally, a Karamana native bought the newborn for the amount but remains highly monitored by the Kerala police.
Someone played a fink and revealed the details of the trade to the child line and police. The special branch officer Anoop from Karamana reached Lally's house in a surprising move. The newborn was found but Lally resorted to playing tough and revealed the details from the hospital saying the child was hers. The police reached the hospital and while scouring through the records, found a glaring mistake in the age being entered. Lally is 39 years old while on hospital records, the age is given as 33.
Lally married a second time but hesitated to give her husband's name in the record while she entered her nephew's name in husband's column. The child line officers were informed of the fraud and the newborn was taken by the officers while a case is going strong to find the culprits.
