THRISSUR: Former Opposition leader Ramesh Chennithala said that he will not allow corruption regarding installation of AI cameras and claimed that he has all the documents. Chennithala also alleged mystery in the installation of the cameras.
“The government didn’t provide documents when I asked, but now I have them. I will give four days to the government to release the documents or else I will do it myself. The companies implementing the project have no prior experience. There is also a mystery about increasing the amount for the government scheme.
The government is not responding to RTI queries related to the Safe Kerala scheme. This is a scheme to rob the poor using Keltron. Keltron awarded the contract to SIRT, a Bengaluru based company. The details are unclear regarding the tender of this contract. Keltron gave the contract to SIRT for Rs 151.22 crore. SIRT issued sub contracts to two other companies.
The government initially announced the project for Rs 151 crore, which was said to be implemented by companies for Rs 75 crore. Now it became Rs 232 crore that means an additional amount of Rs 81 crore. What is the reason for the additional amount? The government is creating an opportunity for private companies to make huge profits. The government and companies do not have investment in the project”, said Chennithala.
