KASARAGOD: The police arrested four persons including a woman in a massive drug bust within the limits of Bekal station. Chattanjal native Aboobacker (35), wife Amina Asra (25), Bengaluru natives AK Vasim (32) and P S Sooraj (31), were arrested by a police team led by SI UP Vipin from Uduma Pallath.

The police team arrived as per directions of Bekal DYSP CK Sunil Kumar. They seized 153 grams of MDMA from the car. The drug smuggling gang was coming from Kasaragod to Kanhangad. The car is also taken into custody.

Drugs worth lakhs of rupees in the market were seized. Vasim and Sooraj were smuggling drugs from Bangalore. The accused were interrogated in detail by the police and they were produced before the court and remanded. The police said that this gang regularly smuggles drugs in Kasaragod district. SI PK Pradeep, police officers Sudhir Babu, A Saneesh Kumar, BM Harish, Unnikrishnan and Nikesh were also present in the police team.
