PEROORKADA: Retired district judge arrested for sexually assaulting woman on a bus. Mannanthala police arrested Ramababu (62), a native of Kilimanoor and a retired district judge.

The incident took place around 11.30 pm on Thursday. Retired district judge Ramababu, who boarded the bus from Kilimanoor, harassed the woman who was sitting alone in the women's seat. By the time the bus reached Kesavadasapuram, the young woman raised a ruckus and the bus crew informed the police. Ramababu was arrested and produced before the court and the court granted him bail.

Meanwhile, a priest of the Orthodox Church was arrested the other day for acting indecently with a 15-year-old girl. Shemavoon Ramban (77), a church priest, was arrested. The incident related to the case took place on April 3. Shemavoon Ramban was the priest who was temporarily in charge of Muvattupuzha Oonnukal Mar Gregorios Church in connection with Holy Week. On the complaint of the 15-year-old's parents, the arrest was made after taking the child's statement and conducting an investigation. As allegations have been made against the priest in the case, he has currently been suspended from his duties. The priest is a native of Pathanamthitta. Ernakulam Oonnukal Police registered the case.
