NEW DELHI: The wrestlers have again touched down in Delhi in protest against Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, the chief of the sport’s governing body, who was earlier accused by the female athletes of sexual molestation while in power. Seven female athletes lodged a complaint against Singh two days back with Delhi police. One among the athlete is a minor. However, the police are not giving much stock into the issue which forced the athletes to ramp up the protest.
Vineesh Phogat, Sakshi Malik, and Bajrang Punia involve the roster of athletes in protest against the chief. The athletes now want a case to be registered against Singh or else the protest continues. The Delhi Women’s Commission also came to help the athletes and issued a notice to the Delhi police for imminent action. Sakshi Malik while responding to the press broke down, later calling for her friends to comfort her.
