THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Yellow alert has been declared in five districts in the state. Temperatures are likely to rise above normal in the districts of Palakkad, Kottayam, Alappuzha, Kollam and Thiruvananthapuram. Maximum temperatures are very likely to be around 39°C in Palakkad, Kottayam (37°C), Alappuzha (37°C), Kollam (37°C) and Thiruvananthapuram (36°C).
Yellow alert has been issued today due to high temperature and humid air. Apart from the hilly areas, hot and unsettled weather is likely in these districts, the Meteorological Department said.
