THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will flag off the Vande Bharat train in Thiruvananthapuram and dedicate and lay the foundation stone of development projects worth 3200 crores. Modi will reach Thiruvananthapuram at 10.15 am from Kochi. Governor Arif Mohammed Khan and Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan will receive him at the airport.
The Prime Minister will flag off the Vande Bharat train at Central Railway Station at 10.30 am. The Prime Minister, who will remain there till 10.50 am, will interact with the students in a coach set up on the train. He will reach Central Stadium at 11 am. He will then dedicate the Kochi Water Metro and the fully electrified Dindigul-Palani-Palakkad section rail line to the nation.
He will also lay the foundation stones of Digital University's Digital Science Park, the development of the Thiruvananthapuram rail sector centred around Kochuveli, Thiruvananthapuram and Nemom railway stations, the project to upgrade the Thiruvananthapuram Central, Varkala Sivagiri and Kozhikode railway stations to international standards and the project to increase the speed of trains on the Thiruvananthapuram-Shoranur section to 110 kmph. At 12.40 pm, the Prime Minister will leave for Dadra and Nagar Haveli.
