THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The passengers of Vande Bharat will be provided food at a cost of Rs 65 for a minimum journey. Food for Rs 350 will be served to a full-time passenger. Tickets can be taken without including meals. The IRCTC will serve food for Rs 290 on long routes from Kasargod to Thiruvananthapuram in chair car. It will cost Rs 350 in executive class. More menu will be there including juice.
However, the food prices are varied in terms of chair car and executive class even if the journey is of the same duration. Food for Rs 65 will be served in chair cars for minimum journey and Rs 105 in executive classes. Even though the menu has not been announced, it will be similar to the Vande Bharat running in Chennai.
Tea, coffee and biscuit are served on Chennai-Mysore Vande Bharat running at 5.50 am. Breakfast includes idli, vada etc. Bread omelet, cutlet etc in non-vegetarian food. Cool drinks will be given later and tea, coffee, biscuit will be served in the evening. Light meals will be served at night. There is no pantry car. The food will arrive from base stations. Every passenger will get water and a newspaper.
The Prime Minister flagged off Kerala’s first Vande Bharat Express Tuesday morning. The Prime Minister interacted with 42 students in C 2 Coach halted in platform No 1 at the Thampanoor railway station. He flagged off the train after interacting with the students. Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan accompanied Modi in the train.
