PALAKKAD: In a new low of political mudslinging, congress supporters pasted posters praising MP V K Sreekan്an on the newly inaugurated elite Vande Bharat train. After getting news about the incident, the railway police reached the spot and took down all the posters.

In the initial plans, no stop was allotted for Shornur in Vande Bharat’s itinerary. Congress MP V K Sreekandan raised the issue with Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnav. It was after careful deliberations with Minister V Muraleedharan that Shornur was allotted a stop.

Vande Bharat was inaugurated today morning by prime minister Narendra Modi from Thiruvananthapuram central railway station. The initial run was exciting enough and the new adventures opened doors for the passengers from the south. Albeit the successful run, the poster incident has tainted the image of Congress for showing demagoguery of the lowest standards. Meanwhile, MP V K Sreekandan distanced himself from the issue and said the move was a planned one from BJP to tarnish his name.
