KASARAGOD: Kerala's first Vande Bharat Express has successfully completed its inaugural journey. The train reached Kasaragod at 9 pm. The train was flagged off by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Thiruvananthapuram earlier today.

The Prime Minister interacted with the 42 selected students in the C2 coach of the train, which was halted at Platform No. 1 of the Thampanoor Railway Station. It was only after this that Vande Bharat was given the go-ahead. Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan also accompanied Modi on the train.

Meanwhile, CPM gave a reception to Vande Bharat Express in Kannur. CPM district secretary MV Jayarajan wrapped a shawl on the loco pilot. MV Jayarajan responded to the media that there is no politics in development and Kerala needs Vande Bharat and K Rail. Leaders Kadannapally Ramachandran MLA, KV Sumesh MLA and OK Vineesh also came to Kannur railway station. The CPM leaders boarded the coaches of the train and spoke with the passengers and officials.
