JEDDAH: The first flight with Indians trapped in Sudan, where civil unrest is raging, will reach Delhi today. 360 people, including Malayalis, will reach Delhi tonight. After reaching Jeddah from Port Sudan, the group continued their journey on a special flight. Saudi Airlines flight will reach Delhi at 9 pm tonight. The Malayalees will be shifted to Kerala House at night. Union Minister of State for External Affairs V Muraleedharan informed that the first group left Jeddah Airport.

The Union Minister also shared the video of them returning home by plane on Twitter.

They will be reaching the motherland soon, reuniting with their families

Under #OperationKaveri the Government is working relentlessly to evacuate Indian nationals from Sudan & bring them home safely", he tweeted.

Another Indian Air Force flight will leave Jeddah this evening and the team will reach Mumbai tomorrow morning, government sources said.
