THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Museum police have chased and arrested a village officer for flashing at students in the capital city. Saiju Kumar (46), Kadinamkulam village officer who is a native of Kanjirampara is the accused. The incident happened on Tuesday at around 8.30 pm in Plammoodu, Pattom. The accused flashed at students while they came to a hotel to have food.
The accused ran away when the students created a ruckus. Then they informed the police. The students also showed the road in which Saiju Kumar escaped to the patrolling team who reached the spot. He then tried to escape on a bike when the police followed him. They chased and caught him. The students told the police that he flashed at them while they were walking.
At first, he denied this, but when questioned in the presence of the students, the accused confessed to the crime. The police have also started to collect CCTV footage to prove Saiju's presence at the spot.
Museum police revealed that a case has also been filed against him in 2014 for placing a mobile camera in the ladies’ toilet while working in Land Revenue Commissionerate. A case has been registered as per the statement of students under non-bailable sections.
